Deloraine, Irene and Mac resided in Shoal Lake, MB, for 40 years. They
then retired in Neepawa where she and husband Mac spent 4 happy years enjoying
their home, yard, bingo and Wednesday night bowling.
Irene enjoyed cooking, baking and was known for her perogies, cabbage
rolls and cinnamon buns. She cherished the time she spent with family and
friends to whom she unselfishly gave all her time and energy.
Irene would never say no to a game of cards and spent many late nights
demonstrating her knowledge and skills. She was very proud of her home
and yard and spent many hours with her husband beautifying her yard with
flowers in summer and Christmas decorations in winter.
The service was held on November 21, 2000, at the Neepawa united Church
with Rev. George Cargo officiating. Pallbearers were Irene's nephews Andrew
Hockin, Lindsay Kaspick, Garnett Kaspick, Ian Wilson, Dennis Kaspick and

She will be forever in our hearts
To love a Mom and then to part
Is the greatest trial of the human heart
Years of striving, little of play
Loving, giving the whole of the way.
A cherished smile, a heart of gold
To the dearest Mother the world could hold
Happy memories are treasured ever
Of happy days when we were together.
With aching hearts we whisper low
"God Bless you Mother, we will miss you so."
Father in Heaven, hear our prayer
Guard our Mother with tender care
Be a good shepherd, don't leave her alone,
Love her as we loved her
When she was here at home.
Mom,we love you, we are strengthened by you, and we will miss you!

at her home.
She leaves to mourn her four children Donald (Dawn), Gordon (Wreatha),
Tanis (Rob), Shanon and special friend and faithful companion Harold Hosler.
In addition she leaves to mourn nine grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren;
five sisters Violet (Earl), Evelyn (Henry), Betty, Audrey (George), Marie
(Murray) as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.
She was predeceased by her parents Richard and Elizabeth Buchanan,

Eileen was born on December 16, 1923, in a farm house in the R. M.
of Rosedale. She grew up on her parents farm near Riding Mountain and attended
school at Tobarmore School. After completing her education she took various
housekeeping jobs In Neepawa until being the first female hired by the
Neepawa Salt Plant.
On December 26, 1944, she was married to James Robert Curtis and soon
after joined him on their farm three miles south of Makaroff, Manitoba.
After Jim's death in 1971, at the age of 51, she moved to Neepawa where
she resided until her death. She was employed at Zeke's Jewellery and The
Co-op.
One of mom's greatest passions was the Royal Purple both in Togo, Sask.
and in Neepawa. She devoted 43 years to them and holds a twelve year perfect
attendance pin. She rotated through all the offices and held the position
of Honoured Royal Lady at least three times.
She had many interests including the Women's Institute in Makaroff,

and bingo; especially Tuesday night bingo with family around her. She could
play cards late into the night and then get up and cook a family meal for

EVELYN ELIZABETH KASPICK (nee Buchanan)
Evelyn Kaspick, wife of Henry Kaspick, passed away Monday afternoon,
February 25, 2002 at her home, in the care of those who loved her.
Funeral services were held at Neepawa United church March 1, 2002 with
Rev Joe Ball of the United Church officiating. Interment at Riverside Cemetery,
Neepawa, Manitoba.
Evelyn was born at home on the farm near Riding Mountain on April 5,
1925. She was the third of seven children - six of them daughters - born
to Richard and Elizabeth Buchanan. She did her schooling at Tobarmore until,
at the age of 16, she went out to work as a housekeeper/nanny for various
people. While in Neepawa Evelyn met and then married Henry Kaspick in June
of 1947.
Henry and Evelyn began their life together on a farm in the Springhill
district and 1ater moved to Winnipeg where Henry worked for various farm
implement manufacturers. While in Winnipeg, Evelyn worked for Eaton's mail-order
and then Perth's dry cleaners. When their daughter Brenda was born in 1950,
Evelyn left the work force to take up service as a full-time mother In
1953, the family moved when Henry was transferred by CCIL to Brandon. There
the family grew to include Bryan and then Arleigh.
The family grew in other ways too, as Evelyn would take in boarders
and foster children. Her home was always a destination for family wherever
they lived. That has continued down to the present day with her grandchildren,
who have been so much a part of her life.
Henry and Evelyn moved back to Neepawa in 1967, where they opened their
own dealership with Cockshutt, and later White farm equipment. For a time
Evelyn worked as the parts manager and served the farmers faithfully in
that role.
Evelyn was also a member of the Royal Purple and UCI.
During Evelyn and Henry's long years of marriage they enjoyed many
trips with family and friends to various parts of the world. Although Evelyn
enjoyed travel, what she enjoyed most of all was returning to the comfort
of their home.
Evelyn's home was filled with music, as both the Buchanan and Kaspick
families were given that grace. It was one thing that gave her some comfort,
in her last days, to hear songs sung or played on the piano or guitar
Evelyn was one of the very few people to develop multiple sites for
primary cancer. In fact, her case is cited for research.
She first developed cancer five years ago for which she received surgery
and two ago, she was again stricken, which meant more surgery and treatment.
After a time of remission it reappeared last year which meant still more
surgery; but by Christmas she was deemed to be terminal. When she was quite
sick, and unable to rise from her bed to greet each visitor personally,
she ensured that appropriate hospitality was offered.
Evelyn was predeceased by her parents, Richard and Elizabeth, by her
brother Clarence and sister Eileen Curtis.
She leaves to grieve her sisters, violet and Earl McGillivray, Betty
Moore, Audrey and George Simon, Marie and Murray Kolesar and sister-in-law
Hazel.
Although greatly missed, fond memories will be cherished by Henry Kaspick,
her husband of 54 years; by their children, Brenda and Bob Walker, Bryan
and Merrilin, Arleigh and Ian Wilson; and by their children, Rob with Lori,
Jennifer with Marcel, Rhiana with Greg, Ashlee and Jody Plett, Justin,
Angie and Bradley, and by Brenda's step-grandchildren, Terri-lynn, Troy
and Tracey. She also leaves two great grandchildren, Emily and Ryler; her
in-laws and many nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were nephews, Dave Dunsmore, Gregory Moore, Richard Buchanan,
Dennis Kaspick, Don Curtis, Lindsay Kaspick and Richard Kolesar
Henry and family would like to thank the wonderful friends and family
that expressed their deepest, heartfelt support for us during our wife
and mother's illness. A special thank you to Dr. Chapman, the health care
nurses and Health Care Unit, hospital staff, Harris Pharmacy, White's Funeral
Home, and to Joe -Ball and Mary Ellen Clark for all their kindness and
support.
